Afristar Foundation is ready to start distributing the seed donated by “Seeds of Change”.
The custodians of the seed bank being: Nicholas Heinemann, Christine De Waal and Paul Barker, have come to agreement as how to operate the resources gifted. We have decided to keep the management within Afristar Foundations curator-ship and welcome any peer review or constructive feedback. Collectively we decided to call the endeavor “Seed Savers”, which implies that we focused of saving these open pollinated heirloom seed for prosperity and further distribution.
To join Seed Savers an applicant would have donated R100:00 to Afristar Foundation for registration to the seed bank. This will cover the costs of initial posted, envelopes and maintenance of the seed bank.
We feel that is a nominal amount that would cover cost and is by no means intended to generate income.
Seed Savers welcomes introductory letter indicating the following: • Full name • Contact number • Email address • Post Office when seed must be posted • How they intend multiplying the seed • Under what growing conditions they intended cultivating • Where they intend cultivating
Anybody is welcome to apply to Seed Savers; the curators will review each application and try their best to fulfill the request submitted. The seeds will be posted off using Speed Post. A tracking number is provided with each dispatch.
Seed Savers asks only that members feed back the seed they have multiplied back into the seed bank.
